Nick Alm (born 1985) is a distinguished Swedish painter renowned for his masterful figurative oil paintings that explore the quiet poetry of social gatherings and human interaction. With a refined classical style and a deeply humanistic approach, Alm bridges the gap between traditional techniques and contemporary themes.
His artistic path began at KV Art School in Gothenburg (2006–2007) and continued at the Florence Academy of Art in both Sweden and Italy from 2007 to 2010. During his time there, he became a teaching assistant, further solidifying his technical foundations. In 2011, he studied under Odd Nerdrum in Norway and France, immersing himself in the philosophy and practice of classical realism.
He was awarded a scholarship to the Hudson River Fellowship, where he honed his skills in landscape painting. His accolades include the “Exceptional Merit Award” from the Portrait Society of America, the First Place Prize in the Art Renewal Center’s International Salon, and two William Bouguereau Awards.
Now based in Stockholm, Nick Alm continues to create evocative and emotionally rich paintings that celebrate beauty, introspection, and the enduring power of human connection.
