Nino Orlandi, Literary Sculptures

Literary Sculptures That Bring Stories to Life with Intricate Detail and Imagination

Share

A book is a dream that you hold in your hands.

Neil Gaiman

Nino Orlandi is a self-taught artist, a sculptor by passion. His literary sculptures convey immense talent and dimension; the artist makes beautiful wood carvings in his workshop in Serramazzoni, a mountain village in the Apennines near Modena, his birthplace.
Through her passion, she discovered wood and the possibilities this material offers for expressing her artistic talent. Made in a variety of techniques, her sculptures see the wood transformed into books from which emerge hands that try to escape the confines of the pages, faces that seem to whisper their story, trapped within the pages.
